About The Friends

Please note that the Museum has now closed for the expansion and will re-open in 2021.

The Friends of The Trowbridge Museum was established in 1990 when Trowbridge Museum opened, with the aim of support the Museum by providing financial and volunteer assistance.  We are a registered charity (no. 1054720) and submit an annual statement to the Charity Commission. We have an elected committee with a chairperson and elected officers and co-opted members. One of our main roles is to manage and staff the museum shop, using the profits to help fund purchases, conservation and events. Membership is open to anyone and costs £5 for an individual, £8 for a couple and £10 for an organisation. You can download a membership form here.

From the outset we have published pamphlets (known as the pink and yellow books) and booklets detailing various aspects of Trowbridge’s history that are available to purchase in the Museum shop.

Annual General Meeting of the Friends of the Trowbridge Museum
Owing to the ever changing restrictions around the Covid-19 pandemic, the Executive Committee agreed at their meeting held on the 23rd September 2020 that the AGM would be conducted with members of the Committee only in attendance, acting on behalf of the membership on Wednesday 21st October 2020 at 5.00pm
Members were invited to watch online.

Missed it, or want to watch again? Watch the full AGM below.

As you will not be able to join us in the museum, we thought we’d bring a bit of the museum to you….
